Agrani Bank, a prominent state-owned bank in Bangladesh, is recognized for its significant presence in the country's financial sector. The bank is known for its robust and reliable services. However, it's worth noting that, based on some experiences, there may be room for improvement in the behavior and supportiveness of its employees.

About Agrani Bank Limited

Agrani Bank, a renowned financial institution, emerged as a Nationalized Commercial Bank in Bangladesh following the enactment of the Bangladesh Banks (Nationalization) Order 1972. This transformation took place through President's Order No. 26 of 1972, which led to the rebranding of the former Habib Bank Limited and Commerce Bank Limited as Agrani Bank. The Bank was officially incorporated as a State-owned Commercial Bank on May 17, 2007, in accordance with the Companies Act 1994.

Under a vendor's agreement signed on November 15, 2007, between the Ministry of Finance of the People's Republic of Bangladesh and the Board of Directors of ABL, Agrani Bank Limited seamlessly acquired the business, assets, liabilities, rights, and obligations of Agrani Bank. This transfer became effective retrospectively from July 1, 2007, ensuring a smooth continuation of operations.

The governance of Agrani Bank Limited is entrusted to the Board of Directors, which consists of a chairman, five Directors, and the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer. The Managing Director, supported by Deputy Managing Directors and General Managers, assumes the leadership role within the Bank. The bank's organizational structure includes 11 Circle offices, 53 zonal offices, and 37 Divisions based at the head office. ABL proudly boasts a network of 971 branches, including 36 corporate branches and 43 AD (authorized dealer) branches. All branches are equipped with real-time online banking capabilities, showcasing ABL's commitment to technological advancement. Furthermore, ABL has expanded its presence globally through five subsidiaries, including a merchant bank and SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) financing companies, as well as remittance houses in Singapore, Malaysia, and Canada.

As a pioneer in the industry, Agrani Bank Limited became the first state-owned commercial bank in Bangladesh to introduce Agent Banking. Presently, ABL operates 400 agent booths, enabling convenient financial services in rural areas across the country. Additionally, Agrani Bank Limited established an 'Islamic Banking Unit' on February 28, 2010, to cater to customers seeking Islamic banking solutions. This unit operates through 15 dedicated Islamic Banking Windows.

Agrani Bank Limited remains firmly committed to serving the nation, upholding its mission and values in delivering exceptional banking services to its customers.
