The Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) was established in 1995 under the Dhaka Ahsania Mission, a non-profit voluntary organization in Bangladesh. Founded in 1958 by Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah, an esteemed educator and social reformer from undivided India, the Mission aimed to cultivate a society rich in moral and spiritual values, accessible education, and resources. Ahsanullah's visionary reforms included implementing the roll number system in public examinations and advocating for equal educational opportunities for all societal groups.
In addition to his educational endeavors, Ahsanullah made significant contributions to society through his extensive literary works spanning various subjects such as human development, history, literature, religion, and moral values.
Initially focused on charitable and welfare activities, the Mission gradually transitioned towards sustainable development strategies since the early 1980s, broadening its scope of engagement.
