Psychotherapy & Drug rehabilitation center
CREA was established on the 1st of November 1999 with a noble purpose: to provide support to individuals struggling with substance dependency and their families. The organization's mission was to offer a treatment program that was not only cost-effective but also culturally sensitive, aiming for a reduced rate of relapse and increased treatment success. To achieve this, the founding directors, who possessed a deep understanding of substance dependence treatment and rehabilitation, actively engaged in the organization's activities.
CREA set out to be a trailblazer in two significant ways. Firstly, it sought to prove that a "drug rehab" center could sustain itself entirely through local resources, contrary to the prevailing reality at the time. Many similar centers heavily relied on foreign funding and donations. By successfully achieving this goal, CREA inspired others, particularly former substance users at the grassroots level, to follow suit and establish such centers across the country.
Secondly, CREA was committed to incorporating modern approaches, such as the Social Learning Theory, to better comprehend and address drug dependence and associated high-risk behaviors. By applying and promoting these innovative methodologies, the organization aimed to enhance the overall effectiveness of its interventions.
In summary, CREA's inception marked a pivotal moment in the country's efforts to address substance dependency. Through their locally sustainable and scientifically informed approach, they not only offered hope and support to those in need but also served as a catalyst for the spread of similar initiatives nationwide.
