In 1998, the journey of crafting top-tier lubricants in Bangladesh commenced. This significant endeavor took shape through the collaboration of Mobil Corporation, later rebranded as Exxon Mobil Corporation, and the state-owned Jamuna Oil Company Limited. The resultant entity, MJL Bangladesh PLC, was forged as a joint venture, with EC Securities Limited, a subsidiary of the East Coast Group, joining hands with the aforementioned state-owned entity.
MJL Bangladesh PLC embarked on an ambitious vision, foreseeing Bangladesh as a regional leader in producing top-notch lubricants. This visionary initiative culminated in the establishment of a cutting-edge Lube Oil Blending Plant (LOBP), the first of its kind in the nation, in May 2003. Since this pivotal moment, the production capacity of this plant and the marketing efforts of MJL Bangladesh PLC have witnessed substantial growth and expansion.
