Unimart Gulshan 2 offers a pleasant and convenient shopping experience with a wide range of local and imported products. The store is well-organized, clean, and spacious, making it easy to find items across various categories including groceries, household goods, and personal care products. The staff are courteous and professional, always ready to assist customers when needed. The billing process is smooth, and multiple counters help reduce waiting time. The overall atmosphere is comfortable, and the store maintains a high standard of hygiene. Though prices can be slightly higher compared to local markets, the quality, variety, and reliability of products make Unimart a dependable choice for everyday shopping.

Terrible service, unfair treatment, and zero staff training I am extremely disappointed with the service at this store. First of all, the cashiers—especially the female cashiers—constantly give the wrong change. This happens too often to be a simple mistake. Secondly, line-cutting by locals is a huge issue here. What makes it worse is that the cashiers willingly serve these queue-jumpers first, completely ignoring customers who have been waiting patiently in line. When I complained about the slow service caused by these locals cutting in front of me, the cashier rudely replied, "If you only have a few items, you should have stood somewhere else." This is unacceptable customer service. This store targets foreigners and charges much higher prices than other places. Given how expensive it is, the staff should be properly trained. The current lack of professionalism and unfair treatment toward foreigners is deeply frustrating. I highly recommend avoiding this place until they properly train their staff.

I don’t usually go shopping in Dhaka because I find it too stressful, so maybe it serves me right for going to Unimart Gulshan 2 on a Saturday, probably one of the busiest days of the week. To be fair, Unimart is still one of the better places in Dhaka if you’re looking for foreign or imported products that are hard to find elsewhere. The selection is good, and that is probably the main reason people keep going back. That said, the experience could be much better. As soon as you walk in, there is a strong wet market smell, mostly from the open fish section. They should seriously consider covering or better isolating that area so the whole place doesn’t smell like fish. One odd thing happened during my visit. I needed to buy a couple of water glasses. I found two I liked and put them in my basket. Much later, a staff member tried to take them out of our basket because apparently, they only sell those glasses in sets of six. I only wanted two. After several attempts by him to remove the glasses from our basket, I felt bad for the guy and just gave them back. So yes, Unimart has good products, but the shopping experience still needs work. And apparently, they now have basket police.
