Founded in 1953, রাবি is a one of the biggest publice universities in Bangladesh. The campus is beautiful and clean. It has greeneries everywhere. When I visied the campus for the first time, I commemorated professor Dr. Mohammad Shamsuzzohawho was killed while protecting his students from security forces in 1969 seeing his grave in the center of the campus. It is pretty close to Padma River and has a botanical garden, an artistic forest and the Jungle Genome Project bird sanctuary. It also has its own railway station on the main line from Rajshahi to the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka. The university educates about 40,000 students, across faculties of law, arts, science, business studies, social science, agriculture, engineering, fine arts, biological science, geoscience, fisheries and veterinary and animal science.

According to me, Rajshahi University will rank second after Dhaka University among the universities of Bangladesh, all things considered. Rajshahi city is the cleanest city in Bangladesh. It is called Silk City also, it is understood even inside Rajshahi University that this city is really clean. I stayed at Rajshahi University for three days for my university exams. Everything is almost very good but the quality of the food in the hall is not very good, it is available for less money but it is very difficult to eat the food, but I will say that it is ok for the money.

Just awesome campus.Campus is so much neat and clean. Though the behaviour of the authority was little bit upsetting. Within 3 to 5 kilometers here you will find Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology, Rajshahi College, New government degree college. Overall it was good experience.

Rajshahi University(RU) is the 2nd oldest & one of the best universities in Bangladesh established in 1953. It has 60 departments & 10 faculties which holds over 40,000 students from all over Bangladesh. It covers vast 710 acres of lands for its students & stuffs. It has 17 dormitories for students.
The University of Rajshahi stands as a prestigious institution and holds the distinction of being one of the largest and most prominent universities in Bangladesh. It takes pride in being the primary seat of learning in the northern region of the country. Established on July 6, 1953, the university has an impressive legacy of 62 years dedicated to imparting higher education and advancing research.
Nestled within the lush and sprawling Motihar area, the university's campus spans an expansive 753 acres, creating a serene and conducive environment for learning. Its strategic location near the majestic Padma River and a mere seven kilometers east of Rajshahi City Center further adds to its charm.
The necessity for a university in the northern region of East Pakistan became evident soon after Pakistan's creation. The dearth of higher education opportunities in these areas prompted the need for a dedicated institution closer to home, as the University of Dhaka, the sole university at the time, was primarily centered in the capital and not easily accessible to northern students. In response to the widespread demand for a university in this part of the country, the government conducted a feasibility study, which identified Rajshahi as a suitable location for the establishment of such an institution. On March 31, 1953, the Rajshahi University Act (East Bengal Act XV of 1953) was passed by the East Pakistan provincial assembly, marking the official foundation of the university. The administrative operations commenced at the historic Bara Kuthi, an 18th-century Dutch trading house. Dr. Itrat Hossain Zeberi had the honor of being appointed as the first Vice-Chancellor of the University, and academic activities kicked off in 1954, initially being held at Rajshahi Government College until the university relocated to its present campus in 1961.
The university boasts an extensive academic offering, with 59 departments structured into twelve faculties. Additionally, it houses six institutes, two of which, IBA and IER, offer both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Renowned for its commitment to research, the University of Rajshahi has earned a prominent position among Bangladesh's top research universities. Its distinguished researchers have achieved significant milestones, notably reviving the ancient Bangladeshi Muslin fiber, a remarkable contribution to cultural preservation. Moreover, the university's researchers have pioneered the creation of the nation's first and only "snake database," documenting valuable information about various snake species, their venom, and toxicity.
The University of Rajshahi boasts a vibrant and active alumni community, extending its influence and impact both within Bangladesh and across international borders.
