Unmad, a term derived from Sanskrit meaning "mad" or "insane," serves as the title for a satirical magazine published monthly in Bangladesh. The inception of this publication can be credited to the collaborative efforts of Ishtiaq Hossain and Kazi Khaleed Ashraf, who established it in 1978. Inspired by the renowned MAD Magazine, Unmad seeks to emulate its humorous style.
The magazine's headquarters are situated in Dhaka, Bangladesh, with Kazi Khaleed Ashraf and Ishtiaq Hossain spearheading its creation. The very first issue of Unmad was released in May 1978. Initially published on a quarterly basis, it later transitioned to a monthly publication schedule in 1991. A typical edition of Unmad spans 28 pages, occasionally expanding for special editions commemorating the holidays of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.
Currently, the esteemed position of chief editor is held by Ahsan Habib, a talented Bangladeshi cartoonist.
