Today, it operates with a mission to support nation-building efforts by promoting social values and preserving the rich historical and cultural heritage of Bangladesh. It is located in a beautiful place just in front of ADB BANK. Two spacious roads run through the Agargaon to the Shyamoly. The National Library is next to it. The atmosphere of the place is enchanting.

Bangladesh Betar, the radio broadcaster owned by the state of Bangladesh, has a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1939 as the Dhaka station of All India Radio. Initially, it operated under the umbrella of Radio Pakistan before undergoing significant changes after the country gained independence in 1971. With Radio Pakistan's discontinuation of transmissions, the broadcasting entity known as Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra was rebranded as Bangladesh Betar. This transformation marked the complete control of all radio stations in the country by Bangladesh Betar at that time.
As a counterpart to Bangladesh Television, which is also owned by the state, Bangladesh Betar holds a special place. It boasts a network of both AM and FM stations spread across various regions of Bangladesh. Moreover, it caters to a diverse audience by broadcasting in six languages, including the widely spoken Bengali. Its reach extends not only to listeners within the country but also to those residing overseas, offering a connection to Bangladeshi culture and news. Leading the charge as the Director General of Bangladesh Betar is Hosne Ara Talukdar, ensuring the organization's smooth functioning and growth.
