কারিতাস মানে ভালোবাসা-this was their moto. It is basically a Christian mission establishment which is working like a NGO. Their mission is not different than any Christian mission in BD. However, they conduct some trade courses for the pupils. Quality of the courses and trainers are dedicated and arduous.
Caritas, an illustrious term derived from Latin, essentially translates to "charity" or the boundless embrace of universal love.
The inception of Caritas dates back to 1967 when it emerged as the eastern branch of Caritas Pakistan. In the aftermath of the devastating cyclone that struck in November 1970, a transformation took place, leading to its rebirth as CORR (Christian Organisation for Relief and Rehabilitation). By January 13, 1971, CORR had evolved into a national organization with a distinctive identity. In a nostalgic turn of events, the name Caritas was officially reinstated in 1976.
Situated in Dhaka, the heart of Bangladesh, Caritas operates from its Central Office. Additionally, it maintains a formidable presence across the nation with eight Regional (or Diocesan) Offices strategically positioned in Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, and Sylhet. In each of these locales, Caritas actively engages in Integrated Development, Disaster Management, and Human Resource Development, all orchestrated through a centralized management structure. Caritas currently focuses its efforts on 208 upazilas (sub-districts) for comprehensive human development initiatives. Moreover, in times of emergencies, such as natural calamities, Caritas extends its operational reach to every corner of the country.
A distinguished member of Caritas Internationalis, a worldwide confederation comprising 165 Caritas Member Organizations spread across more than 200 countries and territories, Caritas Bangladesh remains deeply committed to the noble cause of charity and universal love.
