The journey of HRC began on the 14th of March in 1991 when it embarked on its venture as a Shipping Agency operating in Chittagong and Mongla ports. The road ahead was challenging, with numerous obstacles and skeptics surrounding the company. However, fueled by the visionary drive of its founder, entrepreneur Sayeed Hossain Chowdhury, HRC persevered and carved out a distinct position for itself. Today, it stands as a powerful conglomerate, comprising 18 independent companies and employing a workforce of 3000 professionals. These companies are led by dedicated teams with impressive track records. HRC's influence also extends through its affiliated enterprises with substantial investments across various sectors.

The remarkable achievements of HRC are a testament to its dedication, strong leadership, foresight, and the support of a committed and professional management team. In March 2005, the shipping agency business reached new heights, becoming the largest shipping agency house and the foremost private sector ship owner/operator in Bangladesh. Recognizing HRC's exemplary export performance, the Government of Bangladesh bestowed the company with the CIP status a remarkable 11 times. Additionally, HRC has been honored with 11 National Export Trophies, comprising 9 Gold and 2 Silver awards, in recognition of its outstanding accomplishments.

HRC has also ventured into strategic partnerships with several companies based in Europe, fostering joint venture projects with overseas counterparts. In 2003, Mr. Sayeed Hossain Chowdhury, the Chairman and CEO of HRC, received the prestigious Industry Business Award-2003 for his exceptional contribution to the field of Ship Owning/Operation in Bangladesh, solidifying his position as the finest Bangladeshi Shipping Entrepreneur.
