About Ispahani Mirzapore Tea

The Ispahanis have been actively engaged in business across South Asia since the year 1820. It was Mirza Mohammed Ispahani who set up the Calcutta office of M.M. Ispahani & Sons back in 1900. Later on, his eldest son, Mirza Ahmed Ispahani, became a partner in 1918. Together with his younger brothers, Mirza Abol Hassan Ispahani and Mirza Mahmood Ispahani, they established the private limited company, M.M. Ispahani Limited, in 1934. The corporate Head Office was subsequently moved to Chittagong in 1947, where it stands proudly to this day. With corporate offices situated in Chittagong, Dhaka, and Khulna, the Ispahani Group operates through its diverse divisions, including tea, textile, jute, property, poultry, and shipping, collectively employing approximately 10,000 individuals.

The Ispahani Group has garnered recognition as a pioneering force across various industries and is widely regarded as one of Bangladesh's most successful and esteemed business conglomerates. Notably, it holds the position of the largest tea trading company in the country, effectively dominating the domestic tea market by capturing around 50% of the national branded tea market and an impressive 80% of the branded tea-bag market. The fame of Ispahani Tea extends throughout Bangladesh, and its best-selling brands, such as Mirzapore Best Leaf and Mirzapore Double Chamber Tea Bags, have become household names. A testament to its reach, the company boasts an unparalleled distribution network of over 517 sales centers under 24 Divisional offices, spanning numerous regions such as Chittagong, Dhaka, Pabna, Habiganj, Bogra, Barisal, Comilla, Khulna, Kushtia, Mymensingh, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Sylhet, and more.

Beyond its remarkable tea gardens, including Ghazipore, Mirzapore, Zareen, and Neptune, which are equipped with cutting-edge tea manufacturing machinery, the Ispahani Group remains deeply committed to corporate and social responsibility, forming an integral part of its core philosophy. Throughout its history, the group has consistently supported and advanced worthy causes, contributing to the establishment of schools, colleges, and the esteemed Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital in Bangladesh. The latter serves as a center of excellence, delivering modern, efficient, and cost-effective eye care, with a special focus on offering heavily subsidized rates for underprivileged patients. The institute is staffed by a team of up to 50 skilled ophthalmic surgeons, along with doctors, trained nurses, paramedics, and other dedicated professionals, diligently catering to the eye care needs of hundreds of thousands of Bangladeshis since its inception in 1960.

Furthermore, the Ispahani Group takes pride in its sponsorship of various sporting events, including cricket, football, golf, and tennis tournaments, as well as the National Cricket League.
