The Muslim Welfare Organization is a non-governmental social organization established in 1999 to support socioeconomically disadvantaged rural men and women across the country. Dedicated to fostering national development, the organization actively collaborates with the government and various development partners to contribute toward building a stronger nation. It is officially registered with the Department of Social Services (Registration No. 913/1999) and the NGO Affairs Bureau (Registration No. 1878/2003) under the Government of Bangladesh. The primary goal of the organization is to promote self-reliant development among impoverished communities in alignment with government policies for poverty alleviation.
As a rights-based development organization, the Muslim Welfare Organization places special emphasis on supporting Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. From its inception, it has firmly upheld the belief that sustainable development revolves around people. Its rights-based approach encompasses not only civil and political rights but also economic, social, and cultural rights, ensuring a comprehensive framework for empowering vulnerable communities.
