*Rajshahi: The City of Silk, Mangoes, and Heritage* Rajshahi, often called the "City of Education" and "Silk City," is one of Bangladesh’s most beautiful and culturally rich cities. Located on the northern bank of the Padma River, it blends history, nature, and modern development in a unique way. The first image shows the iconic Rajshahi Court Building, painted in striking red with white and golden details. This colonial-era architecture reflects the city’s deep historical roots. Rajshahi has long been a center of administration and learning, and buildings like this remind us of its glorious past. The second image captures a vibrant city square at night, likely Shaheed Minar Chattar. The tall, illuminated monument stands proudly at the center of a busy roundabout. The wet roads, moving traffic, and city lights show Rajshahi’s modern, energetic side after dark. Nature plays a huge role in Rajshahi’s identity. The third image shows the calm Padma River at dusk. Fishing boats rest on the shore while green trees frame the view. The river has shaped the city’s life, trade, and culture for centuries. Rajshahi is also world-famous for mangoes. The fourth and fifth images feature the giant mango sculptures placed in city roundabouts. Rajshahi College: Rajshahi College is a prestigious government educational institution located in Rajshahi, Bangladesh. Established in 1873, this college is the third oldest college in Bangladesh after Dhaka College and Chittagong College. Affiliated to the National University of Bangladesh, Rajshahi College offers HSC, Honours and Master's degrees in various branches of Arts, Science and Commerce. The college currently offers Honours degrees in 22 subjects and Master's degrees in 21 subjects. The campus is known for its beautiful British colonial style red brick buildings, including the iconic Administration Building, which is a prime example of British Indian colonial architecture and was built in 1884. The first Shaheed Minar, built in memory of the martyrs of the 1952 Language Movement, is believed to be located in this college. The college library has over 77,000 books, including rare manuscripts and ancient 'Puthis'. The college originated from a private English school established in Rajshahi in 1828 by the joint efforts of many prominent citizens of the region (this school is now known as Rajshahi Collegiate School). In 1836, the school was taken over by the Bengal Provincial Government and converted into a government district school. It was established on 1 April 1873 with only six students, again through the joint efforts and petitions of the local citizens, the district school was given the status of an intermediate college and the F.A. course was introduced in its curriculum. As a result of further development, the college achieved 'first-class rank' in 1878, which meant that it was eligible to teach B.A. courses and to be affiliated to the University of Calcutta.
