Summit Power International (SPI) is a Singapore-incorporated infrastructure development and operating company focused on power generation, LNG infrastructure, and other essential infrastructure projects across South Asia. With more than two decades of experience, SPI has played a significant role in developing Bangladesh’s private power generation capacity and supporting the country’s growing energy needs.
Summit established Bangladesh’s first Independent Power Plant in 1997 and has since grown into the country’s largest Independent Power Producer (IPP). According to the BPDB Annual Report 2023–24, SPI represents 18.05% of Bangladesh’s total private installed power capacity and 7.36% of the country’s total installed capacity.
Today, SPI operates 11 power plants with a combined capacity of 2,012 MW. The company also owns Bangladesh’s second Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) and LNG import terminal, with a capacity of 500 mmcf/d.
SPI develops, owns, and operates critical infrastructure that supports Bangladesh’s long-term economic and energy requirements. Its key areas include:

The company works with leading global equipment manufacturers, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to develop and maintain high-quality infrastructure assets.
Its experience includes working with multinational corporations, financial institutions, government agencies, and international development partners to structure, finance, develop, and operate large-scale infrastructure projects.
For more than three decades, Summit has invested in infrastructure that addresses Bangladesh’s long-term needs. Its portfolio has expanded beyond power generation into LNG, ports, logistics, digital connectivity, and emerging infrastructure sectors.
