🩸 Transfusion Medicine Department, BSMMU — Dhaka, Bangladesh (PG) Department Overview The Department of Transfusion Medicine at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in Shahbagh, Dhaka is one of the oldest and most comprehensive blood bank and transfusion medicine services in Bangladesh. It functions as both the blood bank and the clinical transfusion unit for the university hospital, operating 24 hours a day, all year round and providing a wide range of services including blood group typing, cross-matching, blood product preparation, platelet apheresis, and therapeutic plasma exchange. N.B: Its takes time to collect blood due to many blood donars in at a time so please take go with extra time

Dr. Mohammed Mejbahuddin Mia

It is one of the oldest Department in BSMMU. It is open 24 hours, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. The services provided here are cross matching and compatibility testing of all Blood products. There is also facility for platelet apheresis and Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (TPE). There is day care services available from 8am to 2:30pm from Saturday to Thursday.
