Another japanese cuisine experience here in Dhaka. Went there during lunch. I love japanese food and am always looking to try out different places service the cuisine. So, we ordered a good amount of food to try out their dishes. The food was served pretty fast. The grilled octopus and squid was really good. Their beef ramen was okay, but i felt it could've done with some more beef and a thicker broth. Their maki rolls were a let down, and for some reason the size of the rolls seemed extra small. The salmon sandwich was good. They also have good seating options, with rooms available for larger groups (8+). Service was good and they even gave us ice cream on the house.

Experience at Umai Japanese Restaurant I recently dined at Umai Japanese Restaurant, and while there were a few positives, the overall experience left me excited about returning anytime soon. The food was quite tasty, which was the highlight of the visit. Additionally, the restaurant’s location is pleasant and easy to find However, there were notable drawbacks. The service fell short and could use improvement. The ambiance was average—not particularly memorable. I initially ordered a pineapple juice, but it wasn’t available, so I opted for plan B guava drink as a backup. Unfortunately, it was disappointing and failed to stand out. Considering the higher-than-average prices, I felt the value didn’t quite align with the cost. While it wasn’t a terrible experience, I didn’t find a compelling reason toUmai Japanese restaurant return. I’ll likely explore other dining options before considering Umai again.

We ordered - hot and spice sushi roll - Japanese style sirloin steak - coconut kingyoku - mint lemon The food was very delicious and filling. Amazed by the service and prep time. Our bill was near 7k for two people but it was definitely worth it. Will come back for more!

Very nice and soothing atmosphere and the food was fresh and prepared with a lot of care. Really liked the fried squid and octopus and the assorted sushi and sashimi platter. I also had the Chicken Katsu Curry Don, which I personally felt was a little bit too sweet for my taste. But overall was a good experience and the waiter was helpful with choices and recommendations. Price wise, of course Japanese cuisine in Dhaka is never cheap but overall it was a good experience.
