The Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS) is a community-driven, non-profit, non-governmental development organization dedicated to preserving ecological balance and fostering harmony between humans and nature. It is officially registered as an NGO under the NGO Affairs Bureau, Government of Bangladesh.
BEDS was founded to address critical environmental and social challenges in Bangladesh, including the negative effects of global warming, unsustainable exploitation of natural resources, drinking water shortages, degradation of the Sundarbans mangrove ecosystem and biodiversity, rising dependence on non-renewable energy, gender inequality, and human rights violations.
