BEDS is a leading nature-based Organization dedicated to the restoration of mangroves, climate change, livelihood development for local communities, and the promotion of community based eco-tourism in the Sundarbans.

BEDS is a non government organization. Since 2011, it has been working on the environmental education, livelihood improvement of backward communities in coastal areas, ecological balance, climate change and many other issues. BEDS received the Environment Medal from the Government of Bangladesh in 2011-22 for its outstanding contribution to environmental protection. Hopefully BEDS, will continue to do much better in protecting environment.

About BEDS-Bangladesh

The Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS) is a community-driven, non-profit, non-governmental development organization dedicated to preserving ecological balance and fostering harmony between humans and nature. It is officially registered as an NGO under the NGO Affairs Bureau, Government of Bangladesh.  

BEDS was founded to address critical environmental and social challenges in Bangladesh, including the negative effects of global warming, unsustainable exploitation of natural resources, drinking water shortages, degradation of the Sundarbans mangrove ecosystem and biodiversity, rising dependence on non-renewable energy, gender inequality, and human rights violations.
